WOMEN'S POKER
WASHINGTON CASINOS THE PLACE FOR WOMEN TO PLAY!
|
Congratulations to Barb, Bonnie, and Nona for a good showing at the Tulalip Tournament January 27th, 2008. Barb ended up 7th out of 140 for a $1000.00 cash. Tulalip puts on a class event. They gave everyone who entered the tournament a nice winter lined jacket that said "Tulalip Poker" on the outside.. They paid out three $500 high-hands for the first 3 rounds. They are planning on doing 3 tournaments this year.

Michelle and I are back in Ellensburg from the Wildhorse Spring Poker Round-up with empty pockets,
but full of great new business ideas and a renewed passion for the game we love so much. There
were 180 women in the Ladies event this year. After playing in different casinos we have come to know
several of the players. Along with Michelle and I, there were Barb & Bonnie from Wenatchee, Leslie,
Sharon, & Michelle from Yakima, Jessie, Mona, Kim, & Michelle from Portland. We could go on and on
but those were just a few of the wonderful women we have met through poker. Geez, I am thinking the
same thing. There are a lot of Michelles who play poker. None of us made it in the money but Barb
made it to the top 3 tables and Diane made it to the top 4 tables.
One of the highlights of the Ladies event is getting to play with several of the pro women players. All of
them are more than willing to sit and talk with you about poker whether it is just a story or to give advice.
It is a great opportunity to play and talk with some of the women who have really blazed a trail for us.
They have made it easier for us to be accepted in the poker world and created more opportunities to
play.
While Michelle and I headed back with empty pockets we are pleased to announce that Bonnie placed
2nd in the H.O.R.S.E. Tournament. She took home several socks filled with prize money over
$9000.00. The tournament went well past midnight and we stayed to watch the exciting conclusion.
Barb, Michelle, and Diane were there as railbirds to give Bonnie support. It was quite a night and we
are very happy for Bonnie and wish to congratulate her on her hard-fought win.
We were lucky enough to get some great photos from Lori Averett, the official photographer from the
Round-up. Please, check them out and we hope you enjoy them.
2008 Spring Wildhorse Poker Round-up
Congratulations to Bonnie for placing 53rd and in the money at the 2008 WSOP Ladies event. There were over 1100 women in the event.
Also Congrats go to Barb for winning a $1000 seat to the WSOP through the LIPS Super Satellite. She also won a buy-in to the Ladies LIPS event.

Michelle and I were not able to go to the Spring Poker Round-up and it looks like a lot of
people skipped it this year. The economy has been hard on poker players too. There
were only 114 entrants this year and the pay-out was just to 18th. We did see that
Michelle Orton from Yakima did well again and got some cash back. She was 9th.
CONGRATULATIONS Michelle.
LADIES TOURNAMENT at the WILD GOOSE CASINO (May 31st, 2009)
Thanks to the Wild Goose for again hosting a great ladies tournament
We had 20 women turn out for the tournament. The quality of play was good and it was
great to see everyone. Starting with 4000 chips we got to play for a while. We got a
chance to see Leslie & Sharon from Yakima. The Wenatchee group who is so much fun
to be around was there (we couldn't have a tournament without them). Six of the regular
players from Ellensburg played. There was even someone all the way from Austin Texas,
Jacqueline, who ended up placing 3rd. Shel from Wenatchee came in 1st and
Michelle from Ellensburg earned 2nd. Deb also from
Ellensburg got 4th. Thanks to all the ladies and the Wild Goose
for a great tournament.
Check out the Wild Goose Casino
for their events and calendar.

We all had fun at the tournament on Saturday October, 24th. We tried
something a little different. Since there were only 7 ladies who turned out we
invited the men to play with us and sweeten the pot. The ladies were able to
knock all the men out but one. :) The Wild Goose again had some delicious
snacks for us. Congratulations to Bruce and Diane for placing 1st and 2nd.
